Beginner: Using sliders, toggles, buttons and value lists

Grasshopper parameter synchronization in Fologram supports Number Sliders, Boolean Toggles, Buttons and Value Lists. Any synchronized parameters will appear in the ‘Parameters’ interface of any HoloLens or mobile device connected to your session, and can be controlled directly inside the device. Any changes made in the device will update the Grasshopper document, and vice versa. Parameter synchronization is limited to 3 parameters in the free version of the Fologram mobile app.

Number Sliders
Number sliders can be synchronized to Fologram to create sequences of instructions for a task or presentation and change values of a specific part of the Grasshopper document.

Example file:
In this example, a number slider in Grasshopper is synchronized with Fologram to give control over the radius of a Mesh Sphere.

Boolean Toggles
Boolean Toggles can be synchronized to Fologram to turn parts of a definition on or off and switching between two different parts of a definition.

Example file:
In this example, a boolean toggle in Grasshopper is synchronized with Fologram to turn off the display of a Mesh Sphere with a Culling Pattern component.

Buttons
Buttons can be synchronized to Fologram to create sequential value changes, turn parts of a definition on or off and switch between two different parts of a definition.

Example file:
In this example, a button in Grasshopper is synchronized with Fologram to increase the radius of a Mesh Sphere. The button feeds into a Data recorder, and every press adds a ‘True’ Value, which is converted to a ‘1’ in with a ‘Mass Addition’ component. Each time the button is clicked, the radius will increase.

Value Lists
Buttons can be synchronized to Fologram to choose items from a list and switch between different parts of a definition.

Example file:
In this example, a Value List in Grasshopper is synchronized with Fologram to control the number of populated points at which Mesh Spheres are located.
