Just wondering if there is a way to increase the resolution of the scanning when I track and scan 3D environment? Thanks!
Unfortunately not as we already output the highest resolution mesh data available.
The primary use case for the spatial mesh is for approximately occluding virtual geometry with physical objects in your environment. While the depth data from the sensors on the head set is captured at much higher resolution, the HoloLens generates a low-poly spatial mesh to minimize the CPU and GPU hit.
You could enable research mode on your HoloLens and do some custom unity development with the raw depth data: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/mixed-reality/develop/platform-capabilities-and-apis/research-mode but this is definitely non-trivial.
